Who we are
Research. Policy. Impact. Community.
Britain’s Muslim communities are diverse, dynamic and integral to modern British society. Yet too often, public policy and debate relating to Muslims are shaped without sufficient evidence, understanding or meaningful engagement with the communities they affect.
The Centre for Muslims in Britain exists to bridge that gap.
We bring together academic research, policy expertise and community insight to provide a better understanding of who British Muslims are, the issues that matter to them and the social, economic and policy challenges they face.
Our research helps government, Parliament, public bodies and civil society make better-informed decisions on issues affecting Britain’s Muslim communities. We publish evidence-based research and policy briefings, engage constructively with policymakers and contribute informed analysis to wider public debate.
Our work also extends beyond policy. Through thought leadership, workshops and community development initiatives, we support Muslim institutions and organisations to strengthen their knowledge, skills and organisational capabilities, enabling them to become more effective, resilient and impactful.
Together, these strands of our work reflect a simple belief: better evidence leads to better policy, and stronger institutions help build stronger communities.
